Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated a new rail service between Rajim and Raipur, marking a significant enhancement in regional connectivity. The launch included the flagging off of a new MEMU train service, aiming to provide more accessible and affordable transportation options for the local populace. The extension of the Raipur-Abhanpur MEMU rail service to Rajim was also announced, which was met with enthusiasm from passengers. The new service is expected to bring convenience and economic benefits to the residents of Rajim and surrounding areas.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of the new rail service for residents of Rajim, Gariaband, and Devbhog, offering them a cost-effective way to travel to Raipur. He highlighted that the train would benefit students, professionals, and business people alike. He stated that the connection of Rajim, often referred to as the ‘Prayag’ of Chhattisgarh, to the railway network would ease travel from rural areas to the state capital.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the continuous development in Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He mentioned the investment in railway infrastructure and its positive impact on future generations. He recalled the past narrow-gauge train service from Dhamtari to Raipur, which has now been upgraded to a broad-gauge line. He also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
