At the Thakur Joharni program in Narharpur, Kanker district, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the new industrial policy’s focus on tribal development, particularly in Bastar and Surguja. The event saw the presence of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda. The Chief Minister participated in the religious observances, praying for the prosperity of Chhattisgarh’s citizens. The industrial policy aims to create employment and self-employment avenues for the local communities in these regions, ensuring maximum benefits. Sai also extended his greetings for Thakur Joharni and Navakhai, acknowledging the rich traditions and unity within the tribal society. He highlighted the state’s commitment to education through the implementation of a new education policy, focusing on quality and employment-oriented learning with institutions such as IIT, IIM, and Triple IIT. Additionally, initiatives like Prayas and Eklavya are in progress. A Tribal Youth Hostel in Delhi and the establishment of Nalanda campuses across the state are also significant steps. The Chief Minister noted the successes against Maoism and reiterated the goal of eliminating it by March 31, 2026. The state government is working alongside the National Dairy Development Board to promote animal husbandry and poultry farming to boost employment. Other initiatives include enhancing compensation for tendu leaf collectors, distributing Charanpaduka, and implementing the Ramlala Darshan scheme. Furthermore, Atal Digital Seva Kendras will be established to bring transparency to Gram Panchayats. The PM Janman Yojana and Dharti Aba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan are key in ensuring sustainable development for tribal communities. Arjun Munda, the former Jharkhand Chief Minister, acknowledged the unique identity of the tribal communities, emphasizing the importance of their connection to water, forests, land, and cultural practices. He encouraged maintaining awareness of health, education, and rights while staying connected to their heritage. The gathering included addresses by MP Bhojraj Nag, MLA Asharam Netam, Keskal MLA Neelkanth Tekam, and other community leaders. CM Sai announced development projects for Narharpur, including infrastructure improvements, and financial support for a local English medium school.
