Sharda Dham, a prominent religious and natural tourist attraction on the Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border, has been officially recognized as a tourism site by the Chhattisgarh state government. This recognition, initiated by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, has led to the inclusion of Sharda Dham in the list of designated tourist destinations by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board. The board has subsequently released an official circular.
This designation promises to enhance the visibility of Sharda Dham and facilitate the allocation of funds for promotional activities and the development of tourist amenities.
The temple, which honors Goddess Saraswati, is a site of reverence and provides free coaching and accommodation for needy children. Rajkumar Singh, the chairman of the Sharda Dham committee, stated that the organization supports children from Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand with free meals, housing, and coaching, supported by the contributions of devotees.
Situated about 30 km from the Jashpur district headquarters, in the Duldula block, Sharda Dham is enveloped by dense forests and the tranquil sounds of the Girma River. The Saraswati temple was built through community effort and its design draws inspiration from the Lachlagarh Hanuman temple in Jharkhand.
Jashpur is experiencing a rapid growth in tourism under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The allocation of 10 crore rupees for the Mayali Nature Camp, the recognition of Madheshwar Mahadev as the world’s largest natural Shivling, and the planned construction of a bridge at Kotebiradham, modeled after the Lakshman Jhula, are all crucial steps to boost tourism in the district.
