Raipur, August 3, 2025 / The work of the under-construction Chhattisgarh Assembly building in Nava Raipur is rapidly reaching its final stage. Today, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Shri Arun Sao inspected the progress of the construction work by reaching the assembly building site. He gave clear instructions to the officers that the work should be completed in all respects by the stipulated deadline, September 2025, so that it can be dedicated to the public on the occasion of Rajyotsav (November 1).
Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that this is the silver jubilee year of the state of Chhattisgarh, which will be celebrated with great enthusiasm. The construction work of the new assembly building is now progressing towards completion. The state will get a new, grand assembly building on the silver jubilee year. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been invited for the Rajyotsav program, and the inauguration of this new assembly building is proposed by his hands.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that the construction of the new assembly building has now reached the final stage. Today, the assembly house, the chamber of the assembly speaker, the chamber of the chief minister and the entire complex were inspected to inspect the progress of the construction. The new assembly building will be formally inaugurated at the scheduled time.
The new assembly building has properly incorporated the rich cultural identity, traditional architecture and modern facilities of Chhattisgarh. Three main wings are being constructed in the building – Wing-A will have the Assembly Secretariat, Wing-B will have the offices of the Chief Minister and Assembly Speaker including the Assembly House and Central Hall, and Wing-C will have the offices of the Deputy Chief Ministers and other ministers.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that the new assembly building will not only be a government structure, but will also become a symbol of the cultural grandeur and glory of Chhattisgarh.
Built in an area of 52 acres, this new assembly building will be a grand complex equipped with modern technical features and cultural beauty. The house will have a seating capacity for 200 MLAs, as well as a state-of-the-art auditorium with a capacity of 500 spectators. Parking arrangements are being made for 700 vehicles in the complex and two proposed lakes, each in an area of one and a half acres, will be developed. After the completion of construction, this building will not only provide new heights to the prestige of Chhattisgarh, but will also be established as an example throughout the country due to its unique architectural style and advanced facilities.
During the inspection, Shri Ajay Jamwal, Shri Pawan Sai, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Public Works Department Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Chief Engineer Shri V.K. Bhatpahari were present.
