The Union Ministry of Mines has awarded Chhattisgarh for its exemplary work under the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) scheme. At the National DMF Workshop held in New Delhi, Minister G. Kishan Reddy acknowledged the state’s achievements. P. Dayanand, representing the Chhattisgarh government, received the award.
The state’s commitment to data transparency was highlighted with the successful uploading of 90% of the DMF audit reports on both state and national portals. Chhattisgarh’s model of implementation was presented as a benchmark for other states to follow, particularly in areas of data management, transparency, and on-the-ground execution.
Chhattisgarh is utilizing DMF funds to improve education, healthcare, drinking water, infrastructure, and livelihoods in areas affected by mining. Over Rs 16,506 crore has been allocated for 1,01,313 development projects, with 70,318 already completed. The government emphasizes transparency and local needs in project planning and monitoring, thereby supporting both physical and social development.
