Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district has witnessed a substantial surrender of 50 Naxal cadres, a group comprising 32 women. This operation resulted in the recovery of 39 weapons and represents a considerable blow to the Naxal movement in the volatile Maad region. Among those surrendering were several senior Maoist leaders, including DVCM and ACM rank individuals, indicating a strategic gain for law enforcement. This event is the first wave of surrenders from the northern Maad area, with a larger group anticipated to surrender in Bijapur shortly. Authorities are actively engaged in community initiatives to facilitate further returns to civilian life.
