Chhattisgarh Invites Applications for State Sports Awards

The Chhattisgarh government’s Sports and Youth Welfare Department is inviting applications for the State Sports Awards for the years 2023-24 and 2024-25, with the deadline for submission set for June 26, 2025. The awards encompass various categories including the Shaheed Rajiv Pandey, Shaheed Kaushal Yadav, Shaheed Pankaj Vikram, Shaheed Vinod Choubey, and Veer Hanuman Singh honors, as well as the Chief Minister’s Trophy. Additional benefits include monetary rewards, sports scholarships (diet money), and the Prerna Nidhi. The objective of these awards is to recognize and reward outstanding performances by athletes, coaches, and referees at the state and national levels. Selection will be based on the candidates’ eligibility, accomplishments, and recommendations from sports federations. Prize money includes ₹3 lakh for the Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award, ₹1.5 lakh each for the Shaheed Kaushal Yadav and Veer Hanuman Singh awards, ₹25,000 each for the Pankaj Vikram and Vinod Choubey Samman, and ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh for the Chief Minister’s Trophy, depending on team size. Eligibility extends to national and international medalists, participants in state-level competitions, and players in sub-junior, junior, and senior categories. Athletes seeking diet money must be under 19 years old. Applications can be downloaded from the department’s website, http://sportsyw.cg.gov.in, or obtained from district and state sports offices. Recommendations from state sports associations are mandatory for applications for the Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman. The deadline for submission is June 26, 2025, during office hours, and applications should be submitted to the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium, G.E. Road, Raipur, or the District Sports Office, Raipur. All necessary certificates must be attached to the application; incomplete or ambiguous applications will not be considered. The decisions made by the selection committee will be final and binding.
