Central Chhattisgarh is experiencing the brunt of relentless heavy rainfall, severely affecting both public life and railway operations. The Durg railway station has been inundated, with water covering the railway tracks, which has led to the disruption of numerous train services and significant hardship for travelers.
The meteorological department forecasts heavy to very heavy rainfall in certain regions of central Chhattisgarh on July 10th, while a reduction in the intensity of the rainfall is anticipated from July 11th onwards.
The region received an average rainfall of 13.2 mm in the last 24 hours. The cumulative rainfall has now reached 343.6 mm, exceeding the average by 15%. Durg district registered 13 cm of rainfall in the previous day, prompting the release of water from the Mongra dam and causing the Shivnath River to swell. Consequently, multiple villages and urban areas are facing the threat of water accumulation.
Regional Rainfall Data:
* Balod: 12 cm
