In a move to encourage higher education for girls, the Chhattisgarh government is launching the Azim Premji Scholarship. This scholarship will provide ₹30,000 each year to female students who have completed their 10th or 12th grade from government schools. The Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, inaugurated the program at his official residence in Raipur.
During the launch, the Chief Minister highlighted the significance of educating girls for societal advancement. He affirmed the government’s dedication to the higher education of girls. The scholarship is designed to support girls from economically weaker sections, helping them pursue college or diploma programs.
The scheme is a collaboration with the Azim Premji Foundation, formalized through an MoU. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Foundation, stating that this step will empower countless girls. He acknowledged the progress made by Chhattisgarh, with girls playing a vital role. He emphasized the need to prevent any girl from abandoning her studies due to financial difficulties.
