The government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, has taken a crucial step to foster cricket training and development within the state. A cabinet meeting held at the Mahanadi Bhawan in Nava Raipur has greenlit the allocation of 7.96 acres of land in Sector-3, Gram-Parsada, to the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh for the construction of a state-of-the-art cricket academy.
Despite the usual restrictions on direct land grants to non-profits, the government has made an exception to support this initiative. This academy aims to provide enhanced training to young cricketers, recognizing the significant potential within the region.
Chhattisgarh has a promising future in cricket, with several players already making their mark nationally. The existing Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium underscores the need for a dedicated academy equipped with international-level facilities and training programs. The establishment of this academy is expected to open doors for talented young cricketers and bring prestige to the state on national and international platforms. This project is expected to considerably strengthen Chhattisgarh’s position in sports.
