Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, is set to embark on a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh on June 22nd and 23rd. His itinerary includes the inspection of central development projects, inaugurations, and a comprehensive review of the state’s security apparatus with a focus on counter-Naxal operations. This visit holds substantial importance considering the ongoing efforts to neutralize Naxal activities within the state. The Home Minister will inaugurate facilities like the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Raipur, which are expected to enhance the efficiency of criminal investigations. A crucial high-level meeting will be held, attended by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and other senior officials, to evaluate the internal security of Chhattisgarh, particularly in Naxal-affected zones. On the second day, Shah will travel to Narayanpur, a Naxal-affected district, to engage with security personnel and assess their concerns, and to review developmental projects in the area. The visit is timed with the central government’s final push to eliminate Naxalism, coinciding with a reported decline in Naxal incidents across Chhattisgarh and neighboring states in the past year.
