Raipur/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today laid the foundation stone of the joint headquarters building of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies in Nava Raipur Sector-24. In this ceremony, which was held on the auspicious occasion of the Silver Jubilee year of Chhattisgarh and Ganesh Utsav, he performed the rituals and unveiled the 3D model of the building. The Chief Minister said that this building will give new heights to the efficiency of officers and employees, will strengthen coordination between the three power companies and will provide all services to the consumers under one roof. On this occasion, he planted a Maulashree plant under the ‘A tree for Mother’ campaign.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the 25-year journey of Chhattisgarh is proof that when resolve and sensitivity go hand in hand, the results are historic. In the year 2000, the state produced only 1400 MW of electricity, today this capacity has increased to 30 thousand MW. The recent launch of a new plant with a capacity of 1320 MW by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is going to further strengthen this achievement. The Chief Minister said that this progress of Chhattisgarh is the result of the faith, hard work and participation of every citizen.
He said that his recent visit to Japan and South Korea made him realize that Chhattisgarh is now rapidly moving towards global level infrastructure and work culture. The joint headquarters building is an important milestone in this direction. He instructed the officers that the construction of the building should be completed with quality and timeliness, so that it becomes a new identity of Chhattisgarh in the energy sector.
The Chief Minister informed that under the new industrial policy, MoUs worth approximately three lakh crore rupees have been signed in the power sector recently. As a result, 30 thousand MW of additional electricity production will be possible in the coming years. He said that this achievement will not only provide 24-hour uninterrupted electricity to the people of the state but will also meet the needs of the neighboring states. He said that the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has rapidly advanced Chhattisgarh towards free electricity and now the benefit of this scheme is reaching the remote areas.
On this occasion, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his contribution in the construction of the state. He said that this building, which will be built at a cost of about Rs 270 crore, will be based on green energy and will prove to be a source of inspiration for the coming generations.
MP Shri Brijmohan Agarwal, MLA Shri Sunil Soni, MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, MLA Shri Anuj Sharma, MLA Shri Indra Kumar Sahu, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Energy Department Dr. Rohit Yadav, along with a large number of officers and employees were present in the program.
It is noteworthy that the joint headquarters building will be built in a nine-storey structure in an area of 10,017 square meters. It will have three separate towers for Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited, Power Generation Company Limited and Power Transmission Company Limited. This building, with a capacity of 1300 employees, will have modern facilities like a 210-seat auditorium, gym for employees, two-storey basement parking, mechanical stack parking and e-vehicle charging. This building will be built in accordance with the five-star rating standards of BEE and Griha and its entire operation will be done through the building management system.
This state-of-the-art building being built in Nava Raipur will further strengthen inter-departmental coordination by being near the Secretariat, Directorate and Police Headquarters and will provide new heights to the energy sector of the state.
