In a move to aid residents, the Chhattisgarh Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Department has authorized the provision of kerosene to ration card holders with gas connections in non-scheduled areas under the Public Distribution System (PDS). For the month of August, Chhattisgarh has been allocated 1332 kiloliters of kerosene. This kerosene will be distributed through fair price shops to eligible beneficiaries. This directive has been communicated via an official letter issued by the Food Department, Indravati Bhawan, to all district collectors and the state-level coordinator of the Oil Industry in Raipur. The letter specifies that all Antyodaya and priority ration cards currently in use within the public distribution system are eligible. Ration card holders in urban areas are entitled to one liter of kerosene, while those in rural areas, including both scheduled and non-scheduled regions, can receive up to two liters. The deadline to collect the allocated kerosene for August 2025 is August 31st. The distribution plan includes the following district-wise allocation for August: 48 kiloliters each for Bastar, Kanker, Janjgir-Champa, Durg, Korba, Raigarh, Bemetara, Kawardha, and Sarangarh-Bilaigarh. Dhamtari, Kondagaon, Mungeli, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Balrampur, Surajpur, and Shakti districts will each receive 36 kiloliters. Bilaspur, Raipur, Surguja, and Jashpur are allocated 72 kiloliters each. Additionally, Balodabazar-Bhatapara and Mahasamund will receive 60 kiloliters each, and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Korea, Sukma, and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi will get 24 kiloliters each.
