Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, 141,879 farmers in Chhattisgarh are set to receive a total of ₹152.84 crore in claim payments. The funds will be directly credited to the bank accounts of the farmers who are beneficiaries of the insurance scheme. This includes payments for both the Kharif and Rabi seasons. Specifically, ₹10.25 crore will be disbursed to 33,943 eligible farmers for the Kharif season of 2024, and ₹142.58 crore will go to 107,936 eligible farmers for the Rabi season of 2024-25.
The payment is scheduled for August 11th, Monday, and will be facilitated through a nationwide direct benefit transfer (DBT) based automated system. The main event will take place in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, with Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan presiding. Rajasthan’s Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, will be the chief guest. Other dignitaries include Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Bhagirath Choudhary and Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister Dr. Kishori Lal Meena.
Farmers from Chhattisgarh who are eligible for the insurance will participate virtually.
The program will begin at 12 PM. To ensure maximum participation, arrangements have been established at the offices of the Deputy Director of Agriculture at the district level and the Senior Agriculture Development Officer at the block level, allowing farmers to connect virtually.
