Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated Aspire Pharmaceuticals’ new manufacturing unit in Nava Raipur. During the inauguration, he praised the management and toured the facility, getting an overview of the drug production processes.
Chief Minister Sai recalled how the vision for the pharmaceutical unit emerged due to the medicine shortages during the COVID crisis. He highlighted India’s success in developing indigenous vaccines, setting a global example. He underscored that the launch of the pharmaceutical unit marks a significant milestone in the state’s industrial advancement.
The Chief Minister stated that Chhattisgarh’s new industrial policy is attracting significant investment. He mentioned that investment proposals exceeding ₹6 lakh crore have been received in the last seven to eight months. Furthermore, many projects from these proposals have already begun. The government is creating more jobs through industrial units and offering special incentives.
He also noted Chhattisgarh’s silver jubilee year and the substantial contributions of former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh to the development. He stated that Dr. Singh not only eliminated hunger but also laid a solid foundation in healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Chief Minister Sai cited examples of healthcare progress, including the rise in medical colleges from one to 15 since the state’s formation and the free healthcare services provided through the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme.
Sai observed that he has personally overseen the inauguration of over six specialty hospitals in the past 18 months, highlighting the ongoing expansion of health infrastructure. He also spoke about Prime Minister Modi’s focus on wellness and the role of wellness centers in public health.
He also spoke about the ‘Developed Chhattisgarh 2047’ vision document, which aims to grow the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) from ₹5 lakh crore to ₹10 lakh crore by 2030 and ₹75 lakh crore by 2047. He stressed that achieving these targets depends on the support of the state’s residents.
During his visit to Aspire Pharmaceuticals, Chief Minister Sai commended the advanced technologies used at the unit. He pointed out that the fully automated unit will manufacture various medicines like tablets, syrups, ointments, and creams, creating numerous employment opportunities for local youth.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh acknowledged this as a key and inspiring start for Chhattisgarh’s pharmaceutical sector. He highlighted India’s unique standing in this sector and how the COVID-19 pandemic underscored the importance of medicines and medical resources globally. He added that developed nations like the United States and Europe placed trust in India’s pharmaceutical capabilities during that time.
Dr. Singh also referenced the recently released vision document aimed at turning the vision of a developed Chhattisgarh into reality, which will elevate the state in the years to come.
He highlighted Nava Raipur’s central role in the state’s industrial development, thanks to its suitability for industrial investment and excellent logistics due to its connections to key routes. Dr. Singh congratulated the Aspire Pharmaceuticals team on this new venture, noting that it would boost Nava Raipur’s development.
