At a recent event in Raipur, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai praised the Sen Samaj for its progressive nature and distinguished past, recognizing its invaluable contributions across social, economic, and cultural spheres. He affirmed the community’s vital role in the progress and development of Chhattisgarh. During the Sen Samaj’s women’s district presidents and talent felicitation ceremony, Chief Minister Sai also announced a financial grant of ₹20 lakh for a social building in Balod Nagar. The ceremony began with the Chief Minister offering floral tributes to Sen Maharaj and lighting a lamp.
Chief Minister Sai emphasized the critical role of education in societal change, specifically advocating for the advancement of women’s education. He noted that educating women benefits the entire family and leads to a stronger society and nation. The government considers women the cornerstone of nation-building. He highlighted the contributions of various members of the Sen Samaj, including the late Shri Karpuri Thakur, and acknowledged the community’s efforts to eliminate social inequalities. He assured the government’s dedication to supporting the Sen Samaj’s growth and betterment.
Chief Minister Sai discussed the government’s commitment to bolstering the financial well-being of the state’s farmers and its numerous initiatives aimed at empowering women economically. He mentioned the implementation of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, a key component of Modi’s guarantee, which is currently benefiting 70 lakh women in the state. This scheme aims to provide financial autonomy to the women of Chhattisgarh, allowing them to strengthen their roles in their families and society.
Chief Minister Sai also discussed the central government’s Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative, which aims to improve the sex ratio, encourage girl child education, and promote a positive outlook on women within society. He underscored that daughters are a source of pride and that their education and safety are being ensured through the scheme. The event also featured addresses from MLA Shri Purandar Mishra and Citizen Supplies Corporation Chairman Shri Sanjay Srivastava.
The event included the honoring of talented students, artists, and women social workers from the Sen Samaj with shawls and mementos. Attendees included Chhattisgarh State Hair Crafts Welfare Board President Ms. Mona Sen, Chhattisgarh Sarva Sen Samaj State President Shri Puneet Sen, and numerous other community members.
