Raipur, Chhattisgarh – The Chhattisgarh State Child Welfare Council convened its annual general meeting at the ‘Vimatara’ auditorium in Shantinagar, Raipur. Brijmohan Agrawal, the council’s president and a prominent BJP leader, urged the public to increase their support for children with disabilities and to raise awareness of the council’s initiatives.
Agrawal emphasized that the council’s work extends beyond its internal functions and is a responsibility shared by all of society. He called on every segment of society to actively participate in assisting children with disabilities. He also encouraged council members appointed to state government commissions and boards to engage in the council’s programs and activities. The council plans to encourage more visits to the speech therapy center and other institutions, in order to disseminate information about the council’s work.
The event commenced with the lighting of a lamp and the offering of garlands to a statue of Goddess Saraswati. Subsequently, Dr. Ashok Tripathi, the council’s Vice President, and Chandresh Shah, the General Secretary, welcomed Brijmohan Agrawal with traditional gifts.
Attendees from various districts, including Nathmal Kothari, Vishwanath Panigrahi, Arun Chhabra, Manoj Sharma, Divyansh Shekhar Chandel, Genddas Vaishnav, Manoj Kumar Singh, and Kul Prakash and Dhal Singh Sahu, were also greeted with bouquets.
A new logo was unveiled, followed by the presentation of the annual report by General Secretary Chandresh Shah. Mrs. Indira Jain presented the audit report and the proposed budget. Video presentations highlighted the achievements and activities of the council’s affiliated institutions.
Former council officials and members who have been appointed to roles within Chhattisgarh government commissions and corporations were honored. Among those recognized were Lokesh Kavadiya, Somanath Yadav, Dr. Salim Raj, Prafful Vishwakarma, and Amarjit Singh Chhabra.
Ranjita Koreti, a young girl from Balgrah Kondagaon, was also celebrated for winning a gold medal in the Khelo India Judo competition.
The general meeting featured a cultural program by children from the Balgrah. Parents shared their positive experiences with speech therapy and expressed their gratitude to the council.
The meeting concluded with tributes to late J. P. Sabu and late Shekhar Chandel, both former members of the council. The program was moderated by Joint Secretary Rajendra Kumar Nigam, and the vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Sunita Chansoria.
