During the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav in Tilsiwan, Surajpur district, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai remotely launched development projects valued at over 211 crore rupees, marking the silver jubilee celebrations of Chhattisgarh’s establishment. A life-size statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee was unveiled at the Atal Parisar within the new bus stand in Surajpur, and the Kisan Mela cum Jaivik Mela was virtually inaugurated.
Chief Minister Sai emphasized the significance of the 25th anniversary of Chhattisgarh’s formation, stating it symbolizes the state’s remarkable journey. He highlighted the progress made over the past quarter-century and urged the community to collaborate to reach new development milestones. He honored Atal Bihari Vajpayee, recognizing his critical role in shaping Chhattisgarh and providing the state’s people with a unique identity. Sai lauded Vajpayee’s political career, poetic abilities, and his contributions to the nation’s welfare.
Highlighting the government’s accomplishments, the Chief Minister mentioned a variety of welfare measures implemented in the last 20 months. These encompassed the purchase of paddy at a rate of Rs 3100 per quintal, the provision of monthly financial assistance of Rs 1000 to 70 lakh women through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, the re-distribution of Charan Paduka to tendu leaf collectors, bonuses for farmers who grow paddy, economic support of Rs 10,000 for 5 lakh 62 thousand landless agricultural laborers, the Ramlala Darshan Yojana for devotees, 19 pilgrimage trips for senior citizens, and the establishment of Atal Digital Seva Kendras.
Addressing the event virtually, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao commended the state’s achievements in the past 25 years. He offered congratulations on the unveiling of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee statue, acknowledging the former Prime Minister’s role in establishing Chhattisgarh. He pointed out Vajpayee’s launch of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, which connected villages to major roads, fostering rural development.
The event saw the launch of numerous development projects in Surajpur district worth 211.33 crore rupees. The inaugurated projects, costing 78.78 crore rupees, included those from the Public Works Department, Public Works Department (Bridge), Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Urban Body Department, Tribal Development Department, and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Moreover, foundation stones were laid for 55 projects worth 132.55 crore rupees, which involve departments such as the Public Works Department, Public Works Department (Bridge), Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Water Resources Department Surajpur, Rural Engineering Service, Police Department, and Tribal Development Department.
