Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will preside over an important cabinet meeting in Chhattisgarh on June 30th at the secretariat. The meeting will feature the introduction of the new Chief Secretary and a farewell for the outgoing Chief Secretary, whose tenure concludes on the same day. Several significant decisions are expected to be made during the meeting, which will begin at 12 PM. Discussions will also revolve around the current monsoon season, addressing concerns about the supply of fertilizers and seeds for farmers and the scarcity of DAP. The upcoming monsoon session will also be a topic of discussion. Amitabh Jain, the current Chief Secretary, will retire on June 30th, concluding a tenure of over four years, making him the longest-serving CS in the state’s history. The successor to Amitabh Jain remains undecided. Possible candidates for the Chief Secretary position include Renuka Pillay and Subrat Sahu from the 1991 batch, along with ACS Manoj Pinguva and Richa Sharma from the 1994 batch. Amit Agrawal, a 1993 batch officer currently serving as a secretary in the central government, is also under consideration. The Chief Minister will make the final decision after thorough consultations. The new Chief Secretary will be formally introduced at 11 am on June 30th during the cabinet meeting.
