After a period of intensified monsoon activity, Chhattisgarh is expected to experience a temporary lull over the next three days. The weather pattern is predicted to stabilize before a resurgence of rainfall is expected across the majority of the state’s districts. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for regions in the north and south of Chhattisgarh, indicating the potential for thunderstorms and accompanying lightning.
Prior to this, the monsoon had been vigorous in many areas over the past two days, leading to light to moderate rainfall. The Surguja division saw heavy rainfall warnings for certain locations. Over the last day, several locations witnessed moderate rainfall, while Jashpur and Balrampur recorded instances of heavy downpours.
The recent rains have brought respite from the heat. Ambikapur has seen continuous heavy rainfall for the past 24 hours. With the monsoon active across Chhattisgarh, including the Surguja division, farmers welcome the improved conditions. The rainfall has lowered temperatures, providing much-needed relief from the heat. The local authorities are prepared for potential waterlogging in some city areas, with the municipal corporation ensuring the cleaning of drainage systems.
