The Mahtari Vandan Yojana, a flagship initiative of the Chhattisgarh government, continues to assist numerous women. The monthly financial aid provided under the scheme is facilitating their empowerment. A recent development has been announced regarding the initiative, which includes a comprehensive door-to-door survey of the beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana.
This survey will address cases of beneficiaries not being present at their registered addresses, incomplete documentation, and instances of mortality, necessitating fresh reports. Women and Child Development Secretary Shammi Abidi conducted a review of the Raipur district. The review meeting emphasized that any negligence detected during the survey would result in stringent action against Anganwadi workers, supervisors, Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), and District Program Officers (DPOs).
Additionally, the review meeting stipulated that District Program Officers, Women and Child Development Officers, and other relevant regional officials will now be responsible for conducting regular inspections of Anganwadi centers in both rural and urban locales.
