Union Minister of State Shri Athawale inaugurated the program of the eighth day of the ceremony
Raipur, the eighth day of the internationally acclaimed Chakradhar Samaroh 2025 was filled with unique glimpses of various cultural performances and folk-classical arts. The live performances of the artists on the eighth day of music, rhythm, meter and ghungroo held at Ramlila Maidan moved the audience and took the dignity of the ceremony to new heights.
The program was inaugurated by Union Minister of State, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, Shri Ramdas Athawale by worshiping Lord Shri Ganesha, offering flowers on the picture of Raja Chakradhar and lighting the lamp. Addressing the program, Union Minister of State Shri Ramdas Athawale said that Raja Chakradhar Singh is the pride of not only Raigarh but the entire country. He was a great ruler, social worker and music performer. He worked for the upliftment of the poor, farmers, laborers and tribal society and gave a new dimension to Kathak and established the ‘Raigarh Gharana’. Today, this musical heritage of his is getting respect not only in the country but all over the world. On this occasion, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Devendra Pratap Singh, Mayor of Raigarh Municipal Corporation Shri Jeevardhan Chauhan along with many public representatives and dignitaries were present.
The main attraction of the eighth day of Chakradhar Samaroh was the famous Mallakhamb team of Abujhmad. Their thrilling performances excited the audience and made the auditorium resonate with applause. On this occasion, Ashika Singhal of Raipur, Sangeeta Kapse Sangeet Kala Academy Raipur, Devika Dixit of Durg, Smt. Vasanti Vaishnav and team of Bilaspur, Smt. Nilangi Kalantare of Jabalpur and Dr. Lakshmi Narayan Jena of Bengaluru mesmerized the audience with various styles of Kathak. Smt. Ajit Kumari Kujur of Raipur created an atmosphere with Bharatnatyam and Shri Arnav Chatterjee of Mumbai with melodious singing. On the occasion of Chakradhar Samaroh, a special poetry evening was organized in the memory of Padma Shri late Dr. Surendra Dubey. A beautiful confluence of humor, heroism and satire was seen in the performances of the poets. The audience kept encouraging the poets with applause for a long time.
Abujhmad’s world-famous Mallakhamb team showed an amazing combination of strength, balance and flexibility
It became unforgettable in Chakradhar Samaroh when the Mallakhamb team led by Shri Manoj Prasad from Abujhmad entered the stage. With tradition, discipline and amazing balance, the players gave such a performance that the entire venue was thrilled. Narendra Gota and Phoolsingh Salam, winners of India’s Got Talent Season-10, who reached the international stage after coming out of the small villages of Bastar and Narayanpur, gave a presentation of amazing Mallakhamb art along with their companions.
On the stage, the artists displayed amazing postures of skill, art and gymnastics on the pillar, which thrilled the audience. This presentation proved that the talents of the remote forest areas are now making their mark on the world stage. Thousands of spectators present at the ceremony praised these artists by standing up and applauding them and called them the pride of Chhattisgarh. This is the same team that won the hearts of the entire country by winning India’s Got Talent Season 10 in 2023. Apart from this, these artists have also hoisted the flag of India in international competitions.
Behind the success of these artists is the Abujhmad Mallakhamb Academy, which has been training children from tribal areas since 2018, giving them recognition at the national and international level. So far, more than 500 national medal winners of this academy have been prepared and more than 50 children are taking regular training of education and Mallakhamb while staying here. Their trainer Manoj Prasad has given these children a world-class platform with his hard work, dedication and passion.
