The cabinet meeting, held on August 19, 2025, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, saw several crucial decisions. A significant decision was made concerning the PDS, specifically regarding the distribution of chickpeas.
The cabinet resolved that the state’s Civil Supplies Corporation would procure 2 kg of chickpeas monthly for Antyodaya and priority families in scheduled and MADA pocket areas through the NeML e-auction platform. This procurement will be conducted at a service charge of 0.25% or less, as approved for the fiscal year 2024-25.
Additionally, the cabinet instructed that beneficiaries who did not receive their chickpea allocation between July 2025 and November 2025, must be provided with their due by December 2025.
In a separate development, the cabinet approved a plan to transform Nava Raipur into an IT hub. A 90-acre plot of land will be allocated at a subsidized premium rate to attract IT (IT/IITS) industries. The aim is to foster investment in the IT sector, promoting industrial growth. The reduced land cost is expected to boost private sector participation, opening up new job avenues. This strategic move is designed to invigorate both technological and economic activities within Nava Raipur, reinforcing its urbanization and settlement development. The setting up of IT companies will spur infrastructure upgrades, offering both direct and indirect benefits to the local community.
