Raipur MP Brijmohan Agrawal, a senior BJP leader, presided over a Telecom Advisory Committee meeting in Raipur. The meeting focused on BSNL’s current offerings, future strategies, and network development. Agrawal instructed BSNL officials to prioritize consumer satisfaction through reliable services and network upgrades, particularly in underserved rural and remote regions.
He urged the preferential use of BSNL services within governmental bodies and pushed for the swift rollout of 5G technology. He also suggested BSNL invest in extensive promotion and marketing of its products and services to increase its user base.
T. K. Markam, BSNL’s Principal General Manager (Commercial Area Raipur), presented detailed information on BSNL’s 4G services, network expansion initiatives, and recent accomplishments. He noted that BSNL 4G services have been introduced in Naxal-affected villages where other providers were absent. Additionally, over 700 schools are now connected with fiber optics under the Samagra Shiksha Yojana.
Markam also discussed the Extended BharatNet initiative by the Indian government, planning to set up 15 million Bharat Fiber connections nationwide. He acknowledged MP Agrawal’s support for the project. Other members of the Telecom Advisory Committee and senior BSNL representatives attended the meeting.
