A man was murdered by his younger brother in the Chhawani police station area of Durg, Chhattisgarh. The younger brother used a hatchet in the attack and is currently on the run. The two brothers were reportedly embroiled in a long-term feud. Both were known to have a problem with alcohol. Police have opened an investigation and are searching for the suspect.
The incident unfolded following a familiar pattern of disagreement between Rajveer Singh and Mahendra Singh, who resided on Nandani Road, Subhash Nagar. The argument quickly devolved into shouting and then turned into a physical fight.
During the fight, Rajveer Singh used a hatchet to repeatedly strike Mahendra Singh on the head. Mahendra Singh attempted to defend himself with a knife, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
After the assault, the perpetrator, Rajveer Singh, fled. Police officials, including SP Vijay Agrawal, the Additional SP, and the CSP, along with a forensic team, are on-site examining the evidence.
