Books washed away in the flood, tablet also damaged, but Poonam’s preparation for competitive exams will not stop
Poonam gets books and a new tablet on the initiative of the Chief Minister
Raipur, September 01, 2025/ On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Poonam Patel of Dantewada, affected by the floods, will continue her preparation to become an administrative officer without any hindrance. Poonam Patel, living in a Naxal-affected area like Dantewada, has been preparing for UPSC for the last three years. Recently, Poonam’s entire family is in a relief camp due to being affected by the floods in Dantewada. Today, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met Poonam and inquired about her well-being. On the initiative of the Chief Minister, Poonam was provided with the necessary books and a new tablet for the preparation of competitive exams. Now, there will be no hindrance in Poonam’s UPSC preparation.
Poonam Patel, a resident of Chuditikra Para ward of Dantewada district, has been preparing for the UPSC exam for the last three years. Recently, her house was damaged in the floods and all the belongings of the house were washed away. Poonam said that all her books were washed away in the flood water and the tablet was also damaged. Poonam said that her father, Shri Santosh Patel, runs a grocery store and supports the family, and it was from his income that she had bought a tablet for UPSC studies by saving every penny with great difficulty. Due to the books and tablet being damaged in the flood water, Poonam was very worried about her further preparation.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the district administration provided Poonam with a new tablet and the necessary books for competitive exams. With this help, Poonam got great relief. Now, even the floods will not be able to hinder Poonam’s path to becoming an administrative officer.
