A major breakthrough in the fight against Naxalism occurred in Bijapur district, with 13 high-profile Naxalites laying down their arms and surrendering to the authorities. These individuals, collectively carrying a bounty of ₹23 lakh, have decided to embrace the path of development. The surrender highlights the impact of the state’s ‘Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy – 2025’ and the ‘Niyad Nella Nar Yojana,’ which are creating an atmosphere of trust and fostering positive change in Naxal-affected areas.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the government’s dedication to rehabilitating the surrendered Naxalites, providing them with skill enhancement opportunities and ensuring their dignified reintegration into society. The government is working towards the complete eradication of Naxalism from the state and the nation by March 2026, guided by the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister.
