In a major security operation in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, twelve Naxalite operatives were neutralized following a fierce encounter in the Gangaloor forest region. The operation, conducted by a joint security force including the DRG, STF, and CRPF’s CoBRA commandos, also resulted in the martyrdom of three brave DRG jawans and injuries to two others. The clash occurred while the security forces were actively pursuing an anti-Naxal operation near the Dantewada border.
The martyred personnel have been identified as Head Constable Monu Vadadi, Constable Dukaru Gonde, and jawan Ramesh Sodhi. The injured jawans are receiving medical care and are reported to be stable. Security forces successfully recovered twelve Naxalite bodies from the scene, along with a substantial quantity of firearms and ammunition. This latest success in counter-insurgency operations adds to a grim tally, with Chhattisgarh having witnessed the elimination of 268 Naxalites so far this year. The Bastar division alone accounts for a significant majority of these eliminations.
