During the meeting, Collector Mishra provided information on the importance and significance of helmets for two-wheeler riders, explaining that severe head injuries are the primary cause of fatalities in road accidents. This is largely due to riders not wearing helmets. She stressed the ethical responsibility of encouraging all two-wheeler riders to wear helmets while riding, even if it requires taking strict actions. Mishra stated that if two-wheeler riders ensure the use of helmets, the death rate in road accidents can be significantly reduced. Considering this, the district administration and police are taking strict measures to mandate helmet use for all two-wheeler riders. Furthermore, Collector Mishra directed two-wheeler vendors in the district to provide helmets along with the two-wheelers to customers purchasing vehicles from their shops. She also instructed all petrol pump operators to coordinate with the transport department and start ISI-marked helmet shops near the petrol pumps. Mrs. Mishra also instructed the District Transport Officer to promptly ensure the necessary arrangements in this regard.
