The Atal Parisar, a new complex dedicated to the memory of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, has been inaugurated in Ward No. 22, Sasa Holi, Tilda Nevra. The inauguration ceremony was led by Raipur MP Brijmohan Agrawal, Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma, Municipal President Chandrakala Khu Man Verma, and other dignitaries who performed the necessary rituals. The project, completed with 28.16 lakh rupees from the infrastructure fund, includes an attractive statue of Vajpayee, along with granite-clad pedestals, floors, and walls, all enhanced by electrical lighting.
Brijmohan Agrawal expressed his pride in inaugurating the Atal Parisar and praised Atal Ji’s revered stature, even among political rivals. He pointed out Atal Ji’s significant contributions to rural development, the liberation of farmers from moneylenders, and the beneficial impact of the Kisan Credit Scheme. Tank Ram Verma reflected on Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s distinguished career as a politician, poet, writer, and editor, which earned him the Bharat Ratna. He also highlighted Atal Ji’s role in making India a nuclear power through the Pokhran tests and his implementation of the Prime Minister’s Rural Roads Scheme, which improved connectivity in villages, ensuring his lasting legacy. Municipal President Smt. Chandrakala Khu Man Verma acknowledged the support of Chief Minister Sai and the Chhattisgarh government for the installation of the statue, and noted Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s role in the creation of Chhattisgarh.
