During a visit to Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district on Thursday, Chhattisgarh’s Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao unveiled several development projects worth crores of rupees. The visit took place amidst heavy rains. Sao, who also holds the portfolio of Public Health Engineering Minister, inaugurated Atal complexes and unveiled statues of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister, in Sarangarh, Pavni, Bhatgaon, and Sarsinwa. Sao stated that the state of Chhattisgarh was conceptualized by Vajpayee, and the complexes were a tribute to him. He encouraged residents to preserve the cleanliness and safety of these new facilities. The announcements included 5.30 crore for a water augmentation project in Pavni, 26 houses under the PM Awas Yojana, 1.64 crore from councilor funds, and 1 crore for other development projects. Bhatgaon saw the completion of a 14 crore water augmentation scheme, with 3.05 crore approved for 99 PM Awas Yojana beneficiaries and 1 crore for additional work. In Sarsinwa, 2 crore was approved for development projects, 8.50 crore for a water connection scheme, and PM housing for 31 families. Sarangarh Municipality received 8.18 crore in approvals, including 6.40 crore for drainage and 4.41 crore for a Nalanda Library with a capacity of 250, along with 2 crore for other projects. The Deputy CM also handed over keys to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, reiterating the government’s aim to provide housing for all. The district of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh is expected to benefit greatly from these projects.
