Additional allocation of 50-50 thousand tonnes of DAP and urea to Chhattisgarh
Chhattisgarh MPs meet the Union Fertilizer Minister in Delhi under the leadership of Agriculture Minister Shri Netam
Raipur, August 12, 2025/ On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda has approved the additional allocation of urea and DAP fertilizer to Chhattisgarh. It is noteworthy that the MPs of Chhattisgarh, led by Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, met the Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers in Delhi and discussed the supply of urea and DAP fertilizer to the state of Chhattisgarh.
Agriculture Minister Shri Netam and the MPs, while informing the farmers of the state about the additional need for fertilizer during the Kharif season, requested them to allocate 50-50 thousand tonnes of urea and DAP fertilizer to Chhattisgarh in addition to the निर्धारित supply plan for the Kharif season. Union Minister Shri Nadda directed the fertilizer ministry officials to provide additional fertilizer to Chhattisgarh.
During the meeting with Union Fertilizer Minister Shri Nadda, Agriculture Minister Shri Netam and Lok Sabha MPs Sarvashree Santosh Pandey, Shri Vijay Baghel, Smt. Kamlesh Jangde and Smt. Rupkumari Chaudhary and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Devendra Bahadur Singh, Chhattisgarh Markfed Managing Director Smt. Kiran Kaushal along with senior officials gave detailed information about the supply of urea and DAP fertilizer in Chhattisgarh. He said that the farmers of Chhattisgarh mainly take paddy crop. In the Kharif season, farmers do the work of planting in the months of August-September. Currently, the work of planting is going on rapidly. At this time, farmers need more phosphatic fertilizer in view of the rapid growth and better production of paddy plants.
Agriculture Minister Shri Netam and the MPs told the Union Fertilizer Minister that according to the supply plan, Chhattisgarh was निर्धारित for the supply of 5.99 lakh tonnes of urea and 2.68 lakh metric tonnes of DAP till the month of July, against which 4.63 lakh tonnes of urea and 1.61 lakh metric tonnes of DAP were received by the state. The supply plan for the month of August is निर्धारित for 57,600 metric tonnes of urea and 36,850 metric tonnes of DAP. Since the maximum need for these fertilizers is in the month of August. Therefore, it was requested to provide an additional amount of 50-50 thousand metric tonnes of urea and DAP in addition to the निर्धारित supply plan.
Kharif season fertilizer storage and distribution
Officials of the Department of Agriculture said that in the Kharif year 2025, the Government of India has received a target of 07 lakh 12 thousand metric tonnes of urea, 03 lakh 10 thousand metric tonnes of DAP and 60 thousand metric tonnes of MOP, against which 06 lakh 72 thousand metric tonnes of urea, 02 lakh 14 thousand metric tonnes of DAP and 80 thousand metric tonnes of MOP have been stored till August 11.
Officials said that in relation to the replacement of DAP, 02 lakh 37 thousand metric tonnes of NPK against a target of 01 lakh 80 thousand metric tonnes and 02 lakh 95 thousand metric tonnes of SSP against a target of 02 lakh metric tonnes have been stored as alternative fertilizers. Similarly, the shortage of DAP is being met with NPK and SSP fertilizers.
