Shah praised their success, emphasizing the Modi government’s dedication to eliminating Naxalism in India. Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister were in attendance.
On social media, the Home Minister shared his appreciation, stating that he congratulated the officers for their success. He further expressed his desire to meet the soldiers who bravely ensured the success of these operations, with a planned visit to Chhattisgarh. The government’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism was reiterated.
The ongoing anti-Maoist operations in Chhattisgarh are being carried out under the guidance of the Union Home and Cooperation Minister. A significant operation from May 18-21, 2025, in the Abujhmad region, involving Chhattisgarh Police forces from various districts, led to an encounter on May 21, 2025, in Boter village, resulting in the death of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basavaraju alias Gaganna. Substantial amounts of weapons and ammunition were recovered.
Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, along with other senior police officials, were recognized by Amit Shah for their contributions. The event saw the presence of high-ranking officials from the Union Home Ministry and the Intelligence Bureau.
