Raipur, August 12, 2025 / The Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Yojana, run by the government, is now becoming a ray of hope in the lives of the common people in rural areas as well. In this sequence, Akat Ram Dhruv, a resident of Village Nawagaon Venkat of Vikaskhand Lormi, has taken advantage of this scheme and installed a solar panel on the roof of his house. Now, he is free from the burden of monthly electricity bills, and is fulfilling the electricity needs of his home with his own solar energy.
Shri Akat Ram Dhruv said that earlier the electricity supply in his house was irregular and the electricity bill was also high, but when he got information about the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, he applied immediately. Under the scheme, he received solar panels on subsidy and the system was installed on the roof of his house within a few days. Now, there is regular electricity in his house and he does not have to pay the bill, rather in the coming days, he is also planning to earn income by selling the extra electricity to the electricity department.
Shri Akatram Dhruv said that he has got financial and mental relief from this scheme. Now, he is taking advantage of solar energy in household needs along with farming. The Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Nawagaon Venkat also said that the success of beneficiaries like Akat Ram Dhruv is also inspiring other people in the village. Now other people in the village are also coming forward to apply for the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
The KREDA department official said that the state government is also providing subsidy along with the central government for the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Yojana. The central government is giving a subsidy of Rs 78,000 and the state government is giving a subsidy of Rs 30,000 for installing a 3-kilowatt solar plant on the roof. Along with this, bank finance is also available in easy installments. So far, hundreds of people in the state have taken advantage of this scheme and awareness about taking advantage of this scheme is continuously increasing in the villages. This scheme is promoting environmental protection, economic savings and clean energy production simultaneously. The government’s goal is to make every home self-reliant by connecting more and more homes with solar energy.
