A devastating explosion rocked the Limbani Salt Industries company in Palghar, Maharashtra, on Thursday, resulting in one fatality and several injuries. The blast occurred during a chemical process at the facility located in JP Udyognagar. Four workers sustained serious injuries and were immediately rushed to the Dhawale Hospital for medical attention. Emergency services, including the police and fire brigade, responded promptly to the scene and initiated rescue operations. Authorities confirmed that the explosion took place during a chemical processing operation at the factory situated on Manor Road. Five individuals were present in the affected area when the incident unfolded. Among them, Deepak (38), a resident of Shiroli, tragically lost his life at the scene. Suresh Kom (55) suffered burn injuries, while Dinesh Gadag (40) sustained serious facial injuries; both are reported to be in critical condition. The remaining two workers, Laxman Mandal (60) and Santosh Tare (51), sustained minor injuries. The intensity of the blast caused widespread panic and fear in the surrounding areas, according to local accounts. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the explosion, with initial findings suggesting a possible breach of safety protocols during the chemical reaction. Local residents and worker unions have raised concerns about the company’s safety measures, alleging negligence.
