The Bombay High Court is set to hear the petition filed by the victims of the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast. This follows the decision of the court to take up the matter. Maulana Arshad Madani, the president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, has announced that the organization will provide full legal support to the victims.
Maulana Madani confirmed that the Bombay High Court has admitted the petition against the lower court’s decision in the Malegaon-2008 bomb blast case. The court has issued notices to all seven accused, including Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and Colonel Purohit, along with the NIA.
Maulana Madani took to social media to state that Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind will be represented by the nation’s leading criminal lawyers to seek justice in the Malegaon 2008 bomb blast case.
He emphasized that the Bombay High Court has accepted the plea filed by the victims and issued notices to all the accused, including Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, Colonel Purohit, and the NIA. The next hearing is scheduled for six weeks later.
Maulana Madani also mentioned that the special NIA court had acquitted all the accused in July 2025, citing insufficient evidence. The victims are now seeking justice in the High Court with legal aid from Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind.
He further mentioned that the victims had placed their complete faith in Jamiat and granted permission for a petition to be filed in the High Court, leading to a hearing. He also confirmed that renowned criminal lawyers will be engaged to provide legal assistance during the upcoming hearings and that the case will be handled with the utmost seriousness in the High Court.
