The BJP is undertaking a major campaign across India to promote the concept of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India), as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the Red Fort. This initiative is strategically timed amidst ongoing tariff disputes.
The ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ will commence on September 25th, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Deen Dayal Upadhyay, and will continue until December 25th, the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The campaign will involve a series of events across the country, including conferences and marches aimed at engaging traders, industries, farmers, women, and entrepreneurs. The goal is to educate and mobilize the public.
During the festive season, the campaign will encourage the use and sale of Swadeshi products. The initiative will promote the purchase of Indian-made goods, support shopkeepers selling Swadeshi products, and encourage the use of traditional diyas instead of imported lighting options during Diwali.
The directive for the campaign was issued by BJP’s National President, Jagat Prakash Nadda. This move is particularly relevant in light of US tariffs. India is actively seeking to diversify its export markets, exploring opportunities in Europe and other regions, while simultaneously focusing on reducing dependence on foreign imports through the promotion of indigenous products.
The campaign aims to convey the message of self-reliance to the people, urging them to embrace indigenous products and Swadeshi values. The ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ will begin on September 25th and conclude on December 25th.
‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp’ conferences will be organized in all districts in October and in all mandals during November-December, ensuring the active participation of social, business organizations, and stakeholders such as local artisans and craftsmen.
