The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to hold a two-day workshop for its Members of Parliament (MPs) starting today within the Parliament premises. The workshop will commence at 11:00 AM. Key figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda are scheduled to attend. A special ceremony will be held to honor PM Modi for his contributions to GST 2.0.
The workshop will feature four distinct sessions for the MPs. The initial session will concentrate on themes of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India), Swadeshi Bharat (Indigenous India), Ease of Doing Business, and Youth Power and Employment. The second session will focus on the effective utilization of social media by the MPs. The third session will involve discussions within the parliamentary committee groups, allowing for interaction with MPs based on the various parliamentary committees associated with different ministries.
A significant portion of the workshop will be dedicated to discussions on the conduct and responsibilities of an MP. This will include the importance of parliamentary committee proceedings, preparations for parliamentary sessions, the application of parliamentary rules, the study of ministry reports, understanding subordinate legislation, and guidelines on MP behavior. The final session will focus on specific regions, including the maritime area, Left Wing areas, rural areas, urban areas, and the hilly and northeastern regions.
In addition, training will be provided regarding the upcoming Vice Presidential election. Topics such as the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, TB Free India initiative, MP Sports, Tiffin meetings, and innovative approaches to parliamentary constituency activism will also be discussed. On Monday, MPs will receive detailed training on the Vice Presidential election, including the voting process, voting procedures, and important precautions.
The Vice Presidential election will see a direct contest between CP Radhakrishnan, the candidate from the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), and B. Sudarshan Reddy, the retired judge from the Supreme Court, representing the opposition. Based on current numbers, Radhakrishnan is expected to have an advantage. The BJP has expressed that changes in GST will alleviate the tax burden on citizens and stimulate economic growth. The BJP and its allies anticipate that the reduction in prices of several commodities will generate a positive sentiment among the public, potentially benefiting them during the Bihar assembly elections, expected to be held in November. The BJP workshop will include several sessions covering the party’s history, progress, and strategies for enhancing the effectiveness of the MPs.
