A political battle has erupted over an NCERT module that attributes the partition of India to Jinnah, the Congress, and Mountbatten. The Congress responded by blaming the RSS, Hindu Mahasabha, and Muslim League. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia criticized the Congress, stating that the ‘Rahul-Jinnah’ party is unsettled by the truth. He argued that the NCERT module includes the painful realities of the partition to the curriculum and thus, the truth hurts the Congress. Bhatia highlighted changes in the textbooks that delve into the partition’s truth, suggesting a likeness between Rahul Gandhi and Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s perspectives. During a press conference, Bhatia asserted that the partition, rooted in religious lines, and the toxic appeasement strategy of Jinnah are mirrored in Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party’s actions. He stated that the Congress supports reservation based on religion, mirroring Jinnah’s views, and advocates for Sharia law in the country. He questioned the Congress’s discomfort with the partition’s inclusion in the new curriculum, demanding an explanation for the partition. Furthermore, Bhatia accused the Congress and the ‘fake Gandhi family’ of criticizing the RSS, a group that has preserved India’s legacy.
