A concerning incident unfolded in Begusarai, Bihar, as a bride disappeared from a train en route to Darbhanga. The husband, Sumit Kumar, reported the matter to the Laheriasarai railway police, explaining that he and his wife, Aanchal Kumari, were traveling on the Howrah-Jayanagar train from Teghra station on June 28, 2025. According to Sumit’s account, his wife told him she was going to the restroom near Samastipur station. She never returned. He stated that he had fallen asleep for a short time. Upon waking, he couldn’t find his wife. He checked the bathroom and searched the entire compartment, but she was not found. The train arrived at Laheriasarai, and a search at the station also proved fruitless.
Sumit attempted to contact his wife via her mobile phone, but it was switched off. He has shared the phone number with the authorities. The couple had married on May 18, 2025, in Begusarai. They had been together for about six weeks. There’s no indication of any romantic involvement outside the marriage. Sumit confirmed that he has lodged a complaint, but no progress has been made.
