A 10-foot cobra caused alarm in a shop in Bihar’s Vaishali district. Snake catcher Shrawan Kumar was called to the scene. After an intensive three-hour effort, Shrawan captured the snake. A large crowd gathered to watch. Shrawan, who began rescuing snakes in 2019, has handled many different species. He recounted how the cobra tried to bite during the rescue. Shrawan also practices as a rural physician. He has traveled across several districts like Vaishali, Chapra, and Patna to rescue snakes. After capture, the snakes are released into safe forests. He has caught cobras, kraits, vipers, and other snake varieties, even two-headed and black cobras. Shrawan says his hobby is snake catching. He has been bitten twice but is now safe and sound and has safely released hundreds of snakes.
