Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was involved in a close call on Saturday morning when a truck collided with his convoy in Vaishali district, near Goraul. The incident occurred while Yadav was returning to Patna from Madhepura following a political event. The convoy stopped for a short break along the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway around 12:30 AM for tea. While Tejashwi Yadav was a few meters away from his vehicles, a speeding truck struck the vehicles carrying his security detail. His personal vehicle was not impacted, and he remained safe. Three security officials were injured in the crash and immediately transported to a nearby hospital. According to reports, Tejashwi Yadav visited the injured officials, expressing concern about their health. The three injured individuals are now in stable condition, having suffered from bruises and small fractures. Local police arrested the truck driver at the scene and took the truck into custody. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident, with potential factors such as speeding or driver fatigue being examined. The incident has prompted fresh concerns regarding the safety of political figures travelling long distances on Bihar’s roads, especially during nighttime hours. RJD members took to social media to express their relief at Yadav’s safety, while others called for increased road safety measures and enhanced traffic rule enforcement. Party officials have requested a comprehensive review of VIP security protocols, particularly in situations with poor visibility. Tejashwi Yadav, who leads a busy political life and undertakes frequent road journeys across Bihar, has resumed his normal activities and assured his followers of his well-being.
