Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University in Bihar is grappling with a serious problem: students are allegedly receiving fraudulent marksheets and certificates. These fake documents are reportedly preventing students from securing jobs and pursuing further education. The students are left with no recourse to rectify the situation.
The university, which has been frequently in the news for various controversies, is once again making headlines. This time, the focus is on the rampant issue of fake marksheets. Accusations claim that these fraudulent documents are being sold to students for profit. The scandal was initially brought to light by a student from a college affiliated with the university, and since then, many more complaints have been received.
Furthermore, it was revealed that the examination department staff were involved in selling fake marksheets and admit cards. This affected approximately 24 to 36 students, with fees ranging from 4,000 to 20,000 rupees.
Upon learning about the scale of the scam, Vice-Chancellor Professor Jawaharlal visited the administrative building, strongly reprimanding employees and the examination controller. Irregularities were detected in the phones of several employees, and an FIR was ordered. However, after the suspension of an employee named Sanjay Kumar, no significant action has been taken. Meanwhile, students holding fraudulent marksheets are left to fend for themselves, approaching everyone from the Vice-Chancellor to MLAs, but to no avail.
Bhagalpur MLA Ajit Sharma has written to the Education Department and Raj Bhavan, urging the formation of a high-level committee to investigate and punish those responsible. Letters have also been sent to Raj Bhavan and the Education Minister.
