A dramatic incident unfolded on Saturday morning when a truck collided with the convoy of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav near Goraul in Vaishali district. Yadav was en route to Patna following a political event in Madhepura. The convoy had stopped on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway for a brief respite, including a tea break, around 12:30 AM. While Yadav was having tea a few meters away, the truck crashed into the parked vehicles of his security detail. Although his personal vehicle was not involved, the impact caused injuries to three security personnel. The injured were immediately transported to a local hospital. Tejashwi Yadav visited the injured officials and inquired about their health. They are currently stable, despite sustaining bruises and minor fractures. The truck driver was arrested at the scene, and the truck was taken into custody. The authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, with initial reports suggesting potential factors such as speeding or driver fatigue. The event has highlighted the ongoing concerns surrounding the safety of political figures traveling on Bihar’s roads, particularly during nighttime journeys. RJD supporters reacted on social media, expressing gratitude for Yadav’s safety and advocating for enhanced road safety. Party leaders have called for a thorough examination of VIP security protocols, especially when traveling at night or in conditions with limited visibility. Tejashwi Yadav, who maintains an active political schedule and frequently travels across Bihar, has resumed his normal activities, reassuring his followers of his safety.
