A convoy carrying Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav was involved in an accident early Saturday morning near Goraul in Vaishali district. Two vehicles in the convoy were struck by a truck while en route back to Patna from a political rally in Madhepura. The incident occurred during a tea break along the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway at about 12:30 AM. Yadav, who was a few meters away at the time, escaped without injury. The impact of the crash resulted in injuries to three security personnel, who were promptly taken to a local hospital. Yadav later visited the injured officials, demonstrating his concern for their well-being. Although they suffered serious bruises and small fractures, the injured officials are currently in stable condition. The truck driver was arrested on the spot, and the police impounded the truck. The accident is under investigation, with authorities considering possible causes such as speeding or driver fatigue. The event has sparked fresh concerns regarding the security of political figures traveling long distances in Bihar, especially at night. RJD members expressed gratitude on social media for Yadav’s safety, and many demanded better road safety measures and stronger traffic rule enforcement. Party officials have called for a comprehensive review of VIP security procedures, especially in conditions of low visibility and reckless driving. Despite the incident, Tejashwi Yadav has returned to his normal activities and reassured his followers of his well-being.
