Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and a prominent RJD leader, held a press conference to criticize the Bihar government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He raised several concerns regarding the recent happenings in Bihar and the Prime Minister’s recent visit to the state. Yadav pointed out the lack of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s presence during times of public distress, stating that the Chief Minister only makes appearances at BJP meetings. He also questioned the character of the Prime Minister’s visit to Siwan, labeling it a political rally.
Yadav stated that the Prime Minister’s speeches were nothing more than a collection of empty promises. He demanded that the Prime Minister account for the central government’s contributions to Bihar, like employment, education, and healthcare. He stated that the Central government only made promises, but they have not been kept. Yadav believes that the public now understands the BJP’s hollow claims. The press conference marks the opposition’s preparation for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, with the RJD’s focus on critical issues like unemployment, inflation, and poor law and order.
Previously, Yadav said that the Nitish Kumar government was completely controlled by the RSS and BJP. He alleged that appointments within the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) are now being filled with RSS-affiliated individuals. Yadav further claimed that the Dalit, backward, extremely backward, and Muslim communities in the state have been subjected to unfair treatment. He accused the RSS of orchestrating actions like halting 65% reservations, restricting employment opportunities for reserved categories, and marginalizing officials from disadvantaged groups in administrative positions. He also pointed out that the Chief Minister has not responded to these allegations.
