Former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, a dominant figure in Bihar politics, appears to have excluded his son, Tej Pratap Yadav, from the party and the family. This move followed the circulation of a picture of Tej Pratap with Anushka Yadav, which allegedly caused a rift. Tej Pratap has been utilizing social media to convey his sentiments and political messages. He frequently mentions his parents and has been seen posing in front of a photograph of Lalu Prasad Yadav with open arms.
Tej Pratap posted a picture of his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, on social media. In the picture, Tej Pratap is positioned below a photograph of Lalu Prasad Yadav on a wall. Along with the image, he included a message: ‘The deeper the darkness, the closer the dawn.’ In this photograph, Tej Pratap Yadav is seen with his arms outstretched, seemingly yearning for his return. This raises questions about whether Tej Pratap, who has always been Lalu Yadav’s favorite and has had his mistakes overlooked, will be forgiven this time as well?
Lalu Prasad Yadav’s actions towards Tej Pratap are under scrutiny. The situation is being analyzed in the context of the upcoming Bihar elections. A woman named Anushka Yadav, reportedly Tej Pratap’s girlfriend, is linked to the controversy. Reports suggest that Tej Pratap may have married Anushka Yadav, despite being legally married to Aishwarya Yadav, whose divorce case is ongoing. The emergence of pictures of Tej Pratap with Anushka Yadav is believed to have caused potential damage to Lalu’s party and family. Consequently, Lalu Prasad Yadav, as the head of the party and family, took action, citing public conduct and family discipline.
Tej Pratap’s efforts to re-enter the fold are evident. Tej Pratap responded on social media platform X, writing, ‘My dear Mom and Dad… My whole world is just in you both. You are more than God, you and your given orders are everything to me. I only need your trust and love, not anything else. Papa, if you were not there, neither would this party be, nor would some greedy people like Jaychand be with me in politics. Just Mom-Dad, may you both always be healthy and happy.’ He did not mention any of his siblings. He then posted another message focusing on his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav, with both posts featuring the mention of ‘Jaychand.’ Addressing Tejashwi Yadav, he wrote, ‘Those who dream of separating me from my Arjun, you will never succeed in your conspiracies. You can take Krishna’s army, but not Krishna himself. I will soon expose every conspiracy. Just trust my brother, I am with you in every situation, currently far away, but my blessings were always with you and will remain with you my brother, take care of Mom-Dad, Jaychand is everywhere, inside and outside.’
On June 7th, Tej Pratap Yadav shared a post where he was seen listening to people’s problems. Tej Pratap wrote that a person walking on the path of truth always wins. We should always walk on the path of truth. The path of truth is certainly difficult, but victory is always of the person walking on the path of truth. Raja Harishchandra regained his lost prestige by walking on the path of truth, the Pandavas defeated the Kauravas in the war by walking on the path of truth. Afterwards, he made another post on June 9th, in which he is standing with his arms outstretched under the picture of Lalu Yadav on the wall.
Tej Pratap seems desperate to return to his family and party. While Lalu Yadav may forgive eventually, he is currently avoiding a decision due to the election climate. In the past, Lalu Yadav has forgiven numerous individuals. The reasons for forgiveness vary, and political considerations often take precedence over family ones. Lalu Yadav did not forgive Purnia MP Pappu Yadav. The list could include Sadhu Yadav and other relatives, with a separate list of leaders.
Figures like Nitish Kumar, Shivanand Tiwari, and Jagdanand Singh are also present in the history of Lalu’s political dealings. The relationship between Lalu and Nitish has seen its ups and downs. In 2022, when Nitish Kumar returned to the Mahagathbandhan, Rabri Devi responded with ‘everything is forgiven’ when asked about the past.
