With the Bihar assembly elections approaching, political parties are intensely engaged in formulating their strategies. Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh’s recent meetings with key figures, including Upendra Kushwaha of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, have sparked considerable political discussion. Tej Pratap Yadav, a prominent figure in the RJD and head of the Jan Shakti Janata Dal, offered his perspective on these developments.
In a media interaction in Patna, Tej Pratap Yadav made critical remarks about Pawan Singh, suggesting his actions align with a pattern of seeking favor. He referred to Singh’s past, alluding to instances where he was seen in a similar light. According to Tej Pratap, Singh should focus on his artistic endeavors rather than venturing into politics, as he believes it is not Singh’s area of expertise.
Tej Pratap asserted that Pawan Singh’s behavior indicates a lack of clear judgment. He stated that Singh’s continuous efforts to align himself with different individuals are misguided. He believes that Singh, as an artist, should prioritize his artistic career over political ambitions. Discussing the proposal to include Chhath Puja in UNESCO, Tej Pratap Yadav expressed approval, highlighting its importance as a revered festival in Bihar. He mentioned his family’s devotion to the festival, acknowledging his mother’s participation in the past.
Tej Pratap also commented on the election symbol of his party, emphasizing the role of the blackboard in guiding people and providing education. He criticized Prashant Kishor, mentioning those associated with him carrying school bags, implying they would seek education from the blackboard. Tej Pratap reiterated the widespread support his party receives in Bihar, underscoring their commitment to addressing issues at the grassroots level.
Tej Pratap further highlighted a specific incident involving an advertisement and allegations about alcohol being found in school bags. He recounted a case in which a physically impaired individual was allegedly affected by a vehicle related to Prashant Kishor’s organization, Jan Suraaj. He mentioned that he intends to visit the location and has requested action from the authorities.
