A tantrik in Buxar, Bihar, has been accused of a serious crime against a newlywed woman. After committing the act, he fled the scene. However, when he returned, he was identified by the villagers, who then took matters into their own hands, severely beating him before turning him over to the police.
The event occurred in Tiyara village, within the Rajpur police station jurisdiction. Gopal Singh, a resident of the village, falsely presented himself as a tantrik, performing rituals. He had been invited to Revatipur village in Ghazipur for a ritual by the family of Havildar Ram. The accusations allege that on June 19th, after staying the night in the house, he entered the newlywed’s room. There, he forced medicine into her eyes and sexually assaulted her. He also stole her mangalsutra when she resisted.
Upon hearing the commotion, the family awoke, but the perpetrator had escaped. The medicine damaged the woman’s eyesight, necessitating immediate hospitalization. On Thursday, the woman’s relatives located Gopal Singh in Tiyara village. He attempted to hide, but the villagers caught him and called the police. The Dial 112 team took him to the Rajpur police station.
Rajpur Station Officer Gyan Prakash Singh confirmed that Gopal Singh admitted his guilt during questioning. The woman’s family has lodged serious accusations. He will be legally transferred to Revatipur police station in Ghazipur district for further investigation.
