Neha and her husband were living together in Aurangabad. Darpan was away on the day of the incident. Before the suicide, Neha had returned from a program in Jharkhand and had a heated argument with her husband over the phone. She then threatened to commit suicide. After the tragic event, the local police were notified, and an investigation was launched. Neha was previously married in Delhi and had a son, Shivansh, from that marriage. She later married Darpan, an orchestra group organizer.
Shivansh stated that his mother often came home drunk and quarreled with his father, accusing him of having affairs with other women. This was not the first time Neha had threatened suicide, but Darpan had not anticipated the tragic outcome. The couple had been married for six years, and Neha ran an entertainment group.
